A Poem For Mallory
God saw that you were getting tired, And a recovery was not to be. So he put His arms around you And whispered, "Come home with me." With tearful eyes, we watched you suffer And saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating: A determined spirit is at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best

Her Brave Heart
After her birth and talking to specialists we were told that Mallory should have normally been a miscarriage at 9-12 weeks. But her heart kept going and let us have the memories we have. This was her heart defect.
Tetralogy of Fallot
What It Is Tetralogy of Fallot has four key features. A ventricular septal defect (a hole between the ventricles) and many levels of obstruction from the right ventricle to the lungs (pulmonary stenosis) are the most important. Also, the aorta (major artery from the heart to the body) lies directly over the ventricular septal defect, and the right ventricle develops thickened muscle.
Because the aorta overrides the ventricular defect and there's pulmonary stenosis, blood from both ventricles (oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor) is pumped into the body. Sometimes the pulmonary valve is completely obstructed (pulmonary atresia). Infants and young children with unrepaired tetralogy of Fallot are often blue (cyanotic). The reason is that some oxygen-poor blood is pumped to the body.

Mallory's Suspected Abnormalities
INIENCEPHALY A rare neural tube defect that combines extreme retroflexion (backward bending) of the head with severe defects of the spine. The affected infant tends to be short, with a disproportionately large head. Diagnosis can be made immediately after birth because the head is so severely retroflexed that the face looks upward. The skin of the face is connected directly to the skin of the chest and the scalp is directly connected to the skin of the back. Generally, the neck is absent. Most individuals with iniencephaly have other associated anomalies such as anencephaly, cephalocele (a disorder in which part of the cranial contents protrudes from the skull), hydrocephalus, cyclopia, absence of the mandible (lower jaw bone), cleft lip and palate, cardiovascular disorders, diaphragmatic hernia, and gastrointestinal malformation. The disorder is more common among females. The prognosis for those with iniencephaly is extremely poor. Newborns with iniencephaly seldom live more than a few hours. The distortion of the fetal body may also pose a danger to the mother's life.
Polydactyly Polydactyly is having more than five fingers per hand or toes per foot.Polydactyly can occur in conjunction with some genetic diseases.
Duodenal Atresia (Double-Bubble) Duodenal atresia is a condition in which the duodenum (the first part of the small bowel) has not developed properly. It is not open and cannot allow the passage of stomach contents.

Survivor
My Mom is a survivor, or so I've heard it said. But I can hear her crying at night when all others are in bed.
I watch her lay awake at night and go to hold her hand. She doesn't know I'm with her to help her understand.
But like the sands on the beach that never wash away... I watch over my surviving mom, who thinks of me each day.
She wears a smile for others... a smile of disguise! But through Heaven's door I see tears flowing from her eyes.
My mom tries to cope with death to keep my memory alive. But anyone who knows her knows it is her way to survive.
As I watch over my surviving mom through Heaven's open door... I try to tell her that angels protect me forevermore.
I know that doesn't help her... or ease the burden she bears. So if you get a chance, go visit her... and show her that you care.
For no matter what she says... no matter what she feels. My surviving mom has a broken heart that time won't ever heal.

Only If
Loved with a love beyond telling,
Missed with a grief beyond all tears.
A million words would not bring you back,
I know because I’ve tried.
Neither would a million tears,
I know because I’ve cried.

Fly by Celine Dion
Fly, fly little wing Fly beyond imagining The softest cloud, the whitest dove Upon the wind of heaven's love Past the planets and the stars Leave this lonely world of ours Escape the sorrow and the Pain And fly again
Fly, fly precious one Your endless journey has begun Take your gentle happiness Far too beautiful for this Cross over to the other shore There is peace forevermore But hold this mem'ry bittersweet Until we meet
Fly, fly do not fear Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear Your heart is pure; your soul is free Be on your way, don't wait for me Above the universe you'll climb On beyond the hands of time The moon will rise, the sun will set But I won't forget
Fly, fly little wing Fly where only angels sing Fly away, the time is right Go now, find the light.
